Fred was valued member of our team for 20 years and initiated the re-hanging of the bells in 1998, raising money by running the London Marathon, and helped with the final installation.
He will be sorely missed.

Deputy Churchwarden Angela Studd purchased a commissioned quarter in the church promises auction, and chose this one to be dedicated to her husband, Dr Robin Studd, a historian of the thirteenth century who last week gave a public lecture on Magna Carta.

By arrangement, we started ringing at 12.15 to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta by King John at Runnymede on 15 June 1215. With permission, we rang through a Civic Service of Commemoration which started at 12.30. A specially made large flag was hoisted on the tower flagpole by Spencer, before ringing began.
