All Saints’ Church Rettendon “Ring for the King” included as many of our ringers, new and old, as possible. We had our youngest, Luke, at 12 years old, with our Tower Captain, Mike Hallett, at 85, and various ages inbetween.
Mike Hallett is a double Coronation ringer, having rung for Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 and now for King Charles III in 2023.
The ringing included Luke in ringing rounds, and more experienced ringers on call changes, with the ringing lasting for 30 minutes.
All our ringers received a badge, either the association badge, or, for the non-association ringers, a home-made one to mark the occasion.
