This Quarter Peal was rung on the day of the Annual District Meeting containing the 4 current District Officers (7,8,9,10), District Education Officer (6), and two former District Masters (5,6). The band consisted of current and past masters of the district, as well as Gordon’s son and an Essex Life Vice President. Paul Cammiade (master between 1984 and 1988) was due to ring but had to drop out due to illness. Stedman was one of Gordon’s favourite methods and he had asked for it to be rung at his funeral; unfortunately, the pandemic made this impossible, but we were determined to ring in his memory once ringing resumed.
