The conductor has now circled the tower which makes ten in which he has done this. A farewell to the late Vicar (the Rev. G. A. Campbell) who is shortly taking up the living of St. John's, Colchester.

The conductor has now ‘circled’ this tower, making 11 in all.

This composition is a reduced three-part with the bells reversed in 5-6, probably the first of its kind produced.

The only previous peal of London on these bells was rung on April 14th, 1903, and it is worthy of note that the ringers of the 2nd, 5th, 6th and tenor took part in it

This is the first peal ever rung in the method by a band all resident in the North-Eastern Division of the Essex Association.

Miss Pettitt is the first lady to take pan in a peal of Bristol Surprise in the in the county and for the association. With the exception of the ringer of the 3rd, all are regular service ringers, and the band wish to associate with the peal Mr. C. H. Howard, who had practised with the band.

For harvest festival evening service. Also arranged for Mr. J. Chalk who used to belong to the local company.

The monthly peal for the division: also rung to celebrate the marriage of Miss D. M. Coppin, youngest daughter of the ringer of the 5th, and Mr, S. Braizer, which took place earlier in the day at Holy Trinity Church, Halstead.

Rung with the bells half-muffled as a token of respect to the late Mr. A. Brookes, who was laid to rest that day, and who was a member of the choir for over 50 years.

Rung as a birthday compliment to Mr. 0. H. Howard, Master of the association; also on the 48th anniversary of R. W. Stannard’s first peal.

First Surprise Peal - 2.

The 50th peal together of ringers 4 and 5. Rung as a birthday compliment to Mr. C. H. Howard, Master of the Essex Association. The band thank him for his hospitality after the peal.
