Rung as a compliment to Mr. J. Waghorn senr., on his 81st birthday.

Quickest peal on the bells.

First Peal in method on the bells; also by G. Wiffen. Rung as a farewell to the Rev. D. B. Barclay, late Vicar, who was instated to the living of Hatfield Peverel during the time this peal was rung. It was also a birthday compliment to A. Saunders.

Birthday compliment to the ringer of the 4th. First surprise peal on the bells and by all except 2 and 4.

Rung with half-muffled clappers as a mark of respect to the late Mr. James Newman, for many years conductor of the local company, who was interred in St. Martin's Cemetery the previous Thursday.

Rung as a birthday compliment to the conductor, and Miss Saunders, eldest daughter of the tenor ringer.

Rung to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the founding of the original peal of five bells in this tower, cast by Miles Graye 1624, and also the 63rd birthday of W. Elliott.

Rung as a birthday compliment to the Brothers Prior.

Rung for evening service, with half-muffled clappers, as a token of respect to the late Rev. C. B. Lee Winter, Vicar of Bradwell-by-Braintree.
