This is the first peal in the method ever performed upon handbells double-handed, and was rung at the second attempt, the first one failing after ringing two parts out of three. The band have practiced at every opportunity for the last nine months, and every time they met the distance walked averaged five miles a man, in addition to railway travelling, as the distance between them is nine miles, making the total number of miles walked about 1000.
