This is a Method Version of the inscription of 120 ringing rows that were painted in the 17th century on the north tower wall of the now-redundant Church of St Giles, in the uninhabited village of Imber, on Salisbury Plain. In the 17th century, the ringing rows would have been rung as Call Changes. These 120 changes were and are known as 'The Plain Changes'. As Call Changes, they would have taken some 10 minutes to ring, if called briskly. As the Historic Imber method, they take about 4 minutes to ring. Note: The inscription includes the date of 1692 in the top left hand corner. Note: The method had been provisionally known as Basic Treble Place Doubles.
