80th published quarter peal on the bells - the first on the original six being on 25th August 1921.
Ringing on eight today would not have been possible without the enthusiasm of Percy Oram who in 1957 on moving to the county set about teaching a local band - with great success. As the bells became increasingly unringable in the late 1960's he was the driver behind their rehanging and augmentation to eight.. Encouraging his band to progress resulted in the first QP on the augmented 8 in September 1971 (this by a local band) a second QP in June 1972 by a local band - jointly produced the band which rang the first peal on the eight on August 28th 1972 a feat which we celebrate today. The band including two of the peal band, one who rang in the first QP's and Percy Oram's son. The other ringers being associated and instrumental in the developmrnt of ringing at Whitnash. There are many ringers who wish to be associated with this attempt. We all wish to remember those Whitnash ringers who are no longer with us.
Rung to mark the 50th anniversary of the first peal on the augmented 8
