Rung to celebrate 144 years since the consecration of the church in Ullenhall on 05/01/1875. Rung on the middle 6 due to issues with the Tenor and the treble (frame warped.) The first 960 changes was quite well struck sadly by the last part we were getting tired as lots of concentration was required on these seldom rung bells. We will return and do some maintenance soon. Thanks to the Church for allowing us to ring and to those who agreed to ring from Aston Cantlow and Chris from Ipsley.

Rung to mark the passing of David Leband Previous church warden at St Peters. He was a pillar of the church and the community and will be sadly missed. He passed suddenly at the age of 77 having been taken ill while preparing for the Christmas services. Our condolences go to Gail his wife. Also This quarter was conducted brilliantly by Bertie williams this being his third as conductor. Meanwhile For Molly this was her first quarter ringing inside which she did superbly despite her initial nerves. Thanks to John and james for their reliable ringing front and back and Barbara and Tracey for taking the other two ropes. Molly and Bertie are both members of the Coventry Guild youth team.

Helen Aries our young ringer (18 years) found time from her A’Level revision to toll the tenor on Thursday 18 April at 7:00 pm in solidarity with Notre Dame Cathedral. In line with ccbr guidelines she tolled for 7 minutes. The fire at Notre Dame has particular resonance with Radford Semele as our own church, St Nicholas, was destroyed by fire 11 years ago and took 5 years to rebuild.

This was made special by the band including more of our friends, Barbara and Roger, Bertie and the new Alcester captain Geoff. We look forward to helping teach a new band of ringers here and many more quarters together. The bells are just beautiful. It was not Grandsire triples but was still very nicely struck. Rung on the back 5 to remember the 425,000 people who died between D day 6th June and 30th August 1944. These casualties were made up of people from both sides. Let us pray that this lesson is one learned by all sides never to be repeated. Also on a Brighter note this was a first ever quarter peal for one of our newest learners this year, Lucy Tennant on the Tenor. A great job she did too with some great tenor striking!! Thanks to Geoff from Alcester for ringing the 5th (quite a job on 5 at Aston Cantlow).

Quarter rung to remember Geoffrey's grandfather Michael Clifford whose birthday it would have been today. He started ringing in 1943 and was the first ringer in the family. Also First in Variation for Geoff and Jon second at hunt for Tess. Great to have three Alcester and three Aston Cantlow ringers together. Thanks to Coughton for the use of their bells.

Rung half muffled to remember and to celebrate the life of Keith Palmer, member of the church family at Aston Cantlow. He will be laid to rest tomorrow. He passed peacefully after a short illness. The first 720 changes was nicely struck and after a wobble the quarter was completed in plain Bob. Well done to all concerned and thanks to Roger who stood in at the last minute for a poorly ringer.
