Arranged to celebrate the life of Harold Thompson 30.10.34 - 2.12.17, Father of treble. Harold was tower captain and sacristan at Welton for many years and assisted with several bell restorations in the area.

Celebrated with those who have taught Chrissie and mainly a local band. Many congratulations on a very credible first quarter.

Rung in memory of Private Alfred John Knight DCM, a Kettering ringer who was killed in action on 12th October 1917, age 23, while serving with the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) 54th Batallion. He is commemorated at Cement House Cemetry, Belgium. His citation for the Distinguished Conduct Medal reads "For conspicuous gallantry in action. He fought his machine gun under intense fire throughout the night, displaying great courage and determination." It has also been stated he was the sole survivor of a gun team and at the end of 48 hours in no man’s land (26/09/1916 to 27/09/1916 at Thiepval, Somme), he succeeded in carrying back and saving the gun.

Their name liveth for evermore.

In memoriam Bill Edmonds a former member of the local band who died on December 19th aged 95.

He is buried in 7th Field Ambulance Cemetery, Turkey, and Private Bernard Charles Loveday, Cheshire Regiment, who was killed in action on 27th March 1918 in France during the German Spring offensive. He is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France. Both were ringers at this tower.
