Rung open in celebration of the life of David Henry Burlingham, former local ringer and churchwarden, whose funeral took place here this afternoon. David was a prime instigator and facilitator of the refurbishment and rehanging of the then derelict ring of 6 bells (T Mears 1807 - the oldest surviving ring by The Whitechapel Foundry in the Diocese) and their subsequent augmentation. Co-incidentally today is the 31st anniversary of the re-dedication of the restored 6 bells.
