Remembering a peal rung at Hallow for her Silver Jubilee in 1977, conducted by David Beacham, in which the ringers of 1, 2, 3, 6 & 7 took part. John Clements, Ron Repton and Neil Bell completing the band. In this quarter peal Richard Clements rang the same bell as John (his father) and Leslie Smith rung in place of Ron Repton, both of whom were unable to take part and wish to be associated with this performance. Neil Bell who rang the tenor in the peal, died in 1992 and his place was taken by his good friend Robert Browne. All the ringers in this quarter rang regularly together in the late 1970s.
Many thanks to John Whittall and David Pratt for ‘coming out of retirement’
