Rung on the centenary of the death of Flight Sub-Lieutenant Reginald Warneford RN who was a member of the local family who gave their name to Warneford Place in Sevenhampton and Warneford School in Highworth. He was honoured with the Victoria Cross and the French medal of the Légion d'honneur for pursuing and destroying single-handed a German Zeppelin airship near Ghent, Belgium on 7th June 1915.
