Commemorated at Acheux British Cemetery, France, Grave Plot 1 Row D Grave 18. Born 22/04/1890. One of three children; all surviving at the 1911 census. Son of Herbert Cross and Mary Ann Cross (née Denton) of 39 Winter Road, Norwich. At the time of the 1911 census, he was working as a clerk. He was scoutmaster of the 17th Norwich Scouts (St John de Sepulchre troop). A memorial peal of Kent TB Major was rung at St John de Sepulchre Norwich on 11/11/1920 and was conducted by his brother, George Herbert Cross; his brother, George, was Master of the Society of Royal Cumberland Youths for the period 1935 to 1947, and again from 1949 until 1953. Born: Lakenham, Norfolk. Enlisted: Norwich. Resided (1911 Census): 39 Winter Road, Norwich.

The back six of the St John de Sepulchre bells were transferred to Erpingham in 1987 along with the pealboard showing the memorial peal above and two peals in which Private Cross rang.

Rung in memory of Private George Snelling, Tibenham, Norwich Diocesan. Died 04/06/1918 age 38. The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment) 7th Bn. Service No.9149. Commemorated at Chauny Communal Cemetery British Extension, France, Grave 2 A 14. Born 30/11/1879. One of four children; all surviving at the 1911 census. Son of Amelia Snelling of Swantons, Tibenham, Norfolk, and the late Frederick Snelling (Died 1886, age 34). At the time of the 1911 census, he was working as a farm labourer. He, along with his brother John Snelling, was a prolific peal ringer, ringing his first peal, at Tibenham, on 20/03/1905, and ringing at least 60 more. These included numerous peals of Surprise Minor, up to 14 methods, along with multiple peals of Bristol, Cambridge, London, Norfolk and Superlative Surprise Major at towers in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Tolled prior to the funeral service of David Cubitt, ringer at this tower for almost 60 years.

This is the first ringing of this bell since January 2018 and the first time from the new floor, prior to this the last time ringing took place at this level was in 1882.

Rung to mark the passing of David Cubitt, Norwich ringer, for over 50 years whose funeral took place at St Peter Mancroft later this afternoon.

Rung to the memory of David Cubitt who died a week last Sunday. He had been a member of the Colegate Society for over 50 years and a loyal member of the band. He had rung 96 peals on the bells. Rung by past and present Masters of The Colegate Society

The first peal to be rung from the restored ringing gallery in this tower, the last peal in the former ringing gallery at this level having taken place in 1858.
