Both were recruited from within the village and learned to ring in time for Ring for the King. Graeme went on to become a full member of the Winchester and Portsmouth Guild. Graeme and Mike were deeply involved in village life, and their loss has been profoundly felt throughout the community—especially by their widows, both named Caroline, who were also next-door neighbours. Though we are poorer for their passing, we are immensely richer for having shared time with them, doing what we love. Our ringing tribute was shared with Sophie Croft, Matt, and his son Jack Luard, landlords of the Star Inn, Bentley.
