Rung in memory of Derek E. Sibson, Past Master of this Society by a band current Officers and Past Masters.
Derek was one of those significantly involved with the installation of the present Spitalfields bells during 1971, this included the removal of the old heavy ring of 8, removal of the ring of 8 from St Stephens Clapham Park and their installation at Spitalfields in a new bell frame. The first peal on the transferred bells was rung on 23rd September 1972 and was also a 5088 of Bristol Surprise Major in which Derek rang.
Derek rang 326 peals of Bristol Surprise Major of which he conducted 274.
