Killed by enemy shell fire while escorting wounded men to waiting transport at Monchy le Preux, south east of Arras, on 26th August 1918. Buried in the Windmill Cemetery, Monchy le Preux, Grave 11.C.2. Elder brother of Sapper Peter Laflin, Royal Engineers (a bellringer) who survived the war.

Rung in memory of Lieutenant William Montgomery Livingston, Royal Irish Fusiliers, who died on 15/04/1917 at Aubigny, France, and was a member of the local band at this church. He worked in the linen trade in Lurgan and is buried at Aubigny Communal Cemetery Extension, France. Their name liveth for evermore.

Rung in memory of Second Lieutenant Hubert Hugh Arbuckle, Royal Irish Regiment, who died on 2nd September 1918 near Queant, France, and was a member of the St. Columb's Honorary Bell Ringers. He is buried at Queant Road Cemetery, France. Their name liveth for evermore.

Rung in memory of the 119 from Hillsborough who died during the Great War and particularly Private William George Atkinson, Canadian Expeditionary Force and previously bugler of the Hillsborough Fort Guard.

Rung in memory of the men of Swanage who made the ultimate sacrifice in WW1. Particularly remembering the 3 Johnson brothers, great uncles of the ringer of the 4th, who came from the town.

John Johnson: born Yeovil, Somerset, served in King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, killed 9th April 1916 aged 19 near Sannaiyat, Mesopotamia (Iraq), commemorated on Basra Memorial, Iraq.

Alec Johnson: born Yeovil, Somerset, served in Hampshire Regiment, killed 3rd September 1916 aged 18 near Beaumont- Hamel, Somme, France, buried in Ancre British cemetery.

Alfred Johnson: born Bishops Candle, Somerset, served in East Kent Regiment ("The Buffs"), killed near St. Souplet, France on 25th October 1918 aged 18, buried in St. Souplet British cemetery.

We will remember them.
