Tom learned to ring at Boston in 1946. He became tower captain and rang there over 9 decades- last climbing the 200 steps to the ringing room at the age of 86, when building works at the church stopped the ringing for a while. Tom was a former president of the Eastern branch of the Lincoln Diocesan Guild and had many friends throughout the guild.
