First time our new band of ringers, who started in April 2018, have rung in the New Year, reviving an old tradition in our village.

Rung in memory of the life and work of the Reverend David Creasey, who died recently. David was formerly a farmer in the parish of Hanthorpe, as well as a minister in the Church of England. He was involved in so many activities in the parish and beyond. May he rest in peace.

Rung half muffled in memory of Private Alfred Harwood, (service number 33905). He died on the 14th February 1919 at the age of 23 whilst serving in the Durham Light Infantry. His grave and military headstone are by the door of St Andrew's Church Irnham.

Rung as a tribute to the life of Michael Cullen who died on 6th February aged 76.

Michael's funeral service was held in this church on Friday 22nd February. The Bells were rung both before and following the service on the wish of the family by the Heckington ringers.

Michael was Church Warden in this church for 28 years and was a good friend and advocate of the Bell-ringers.

R.I.P. Michael.

Today was Robert Ingamell's 40th birthday. As Frampton is his home tower it was fitting to celebrate his milestone after practice. A superb cake was provided by Annette Rhodes of Surfleet and refreshments were provided communally. A good evening was had by all. Congratulations to Robert for his 40th birthday and continued progress in ringing.

Rung in memory of Stephen Thompson of Whickham, Tyne and Wear, who died 50 years ago on 17 March 1969. Steve was tower captain at St Mary's church and taught many people to ring. Some are still ringing today, and remember his kindness and great contribution to ringing at Whickham over a period of 65 years.

Rung in memory of Anthony William Henry Hayter who passed away on Sunday 19th May 2019.

A long serving, loyal and faithful member of this Church who will be sadly missed by all.

Rung to commemorate the life of Sergeant Charles Christian Bird who lost his life on this date 75 years ago. Charles was flying in one of the 510 aircraft on a bombing mission of Hamburg. The weather was poor, however the Mosquito pathfinders located the target, Charles' Lancaster was on its bombing run when hit in the bomb bay by flak. Debris from Charles' plane took down another Lancaster. 29 planes failed to return from this mission. This was Charles' 47th mission. This quarter peal was planned to take place in Helpringham Church, however this was not possible due to the installation of new heating system work overrunning and scaffolding still being in place. Helpringham is the church Charles attended as he grew up, and there are several items there in memory of his life, and his name is recorded in the role of honour. Charles was uncle to Alan ringer of the 4th.

It is with grateful thanks to Sempringham a neighbouring tower for giving permission for this quarter to be rung at very short notice, and for Luke Tobin for making up the band from the original 5 (Helpringham is a 5 bell tower) to 6.
