Rung to mark the 200th anniversary of the first peal rung on the eight bells in this tower on 11th April 1816, being Plain Bob Major, after they were augmented from six to eight in 1815. The 1816 peal is commemorated on a peal board in the tower.
Remembering William P. Miller who rang the treble in the 1816 peal. Mr Miller was the driving force behind getting the bells augmented and it was always his hope and intension to raise the funds to further augment them to ten, however he sadly died before this could be achieved.
First peal of Major inside: 3. First peal of Major: 1.
On the 11th of April 1816.
Was rung on these Bells.
