Rung following a service of remembrance, commemoration and reconciliation to mark the engagement by Lieutenant William Leefe Robinson (RFC) with German airship Schütte-Lanz SL 11 on 2/3 September 1916. The airship crashed at Cuffley, Hertfordshire with the loss of the fifteen man crew. This was the first German airship to be brought down and contributed to the end of the airship bombing raids over London and south east England. William 'Billy' Leefe Robinson was awarded the Victoria Cross, the first VC to be given for action in the UK. Leefe Robinson is buried in All Saints' churchyard.
