This was the first German airship to be brought down and contributed to the end of the airship bombing raids over London and south east England. William 'Billy' Leefe Robinson was awarded the Victoria Cross, the first VC to be given for action in the UK. Leefe Robinson is buried in All Saints' churchyard.
