Rung to celebrate the birth of a grand-daughter to Charles Macrorie ten minutes before the start of ringing, a daughter for Stephen Pedder-Smith and Helen Macrorie, and a sister for Charlie.

Rung for the monthly Brigg Farmers Market and dedicated to the memory of Barrow & District Society member Ian S Bennett of Derby Cathedral, formerly Tower Captain of Rawmarsh, who died the previous day.

Rung in thanksgiving for the life of Norman Bell who died recently aged 96 years. Norman was the last surviving member of the immediate post World War II local band who rang the 2nd for the first Peal on the newly augmented bells in 1953 when they went up from 6 to 8.

Specially arranged to celebrate the 90th birthday today of Derek C Jackson, retired Tower Captain of Eling, Hants who called this Conductor's first Peal on 1st Jan 1970 at Brockenhurst, Hants, and went on to teach him and the 2nd ringer much of what they know about multi-Doubles ringing. Variation named in a Peal at Catherington, Hants on 23rd Feb 1980 conducted by Derek. Thank you Derek, guide, mentor and friend.

Dedicated to the memory of Derek C Jackson, retired Tower Captain of Eling, Hants and lifelong servant of ringing in the Christchurch & Southampton District of the Winchester & Portsmouth Diocesan Guild. Derek died on 1st October having celebrated his 90th birthday on 13th September.

David was a Canon Emeritus of Wakefield Cathedral, formerly Vicar of Gildersome, and resident of this village in supposed retirement where he continuously provided Service cover around the Deanery for many years. David will be very sadly missed.
