This started out as a quarter peals of 1278 changes but was not completed due to the conductor’s indisposition. What we completed was 978 changes instead. It was a fond tribute to that Kind, Lovely Lady Rosemary Cox on her 78 birthday who died on 14/10/2024. A wonderfully Talented Artist and Ringer.
On St Andrews Day 2002 she rang in a peal that was specially arranged and rung at West Tarring on 30th November to mark the 40th anniversary of Rosemary's first peal on 1st December, 1962 at Warbleton: The 40 anniversary peal was her first peal since 1967.
Rosemary went on to ring over 100 peals. The one she most enjoyed was one of Double Norwich Court Bob Major inside.
As well as the above band most of whom had rung with Rosemary for over sixty years; the following would also like to be associated with this tribute to Rosemary, her son Jonathan, nephew Steve and his wife Kate, Iain Davey and the Bexhill Ringers.
Roy says how privileged I was that Rosemary wished to spend her life with me, the songs “Memories” and “You Are Always on My Mind”” says it all.
