Ringing before The Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Christabel Drakes (5 April 1947 to 30 December 2024). Christabel learnt to ring in July 2023 and rang with us for about six months.
Before the service the Six Tailors and 77 strikes on the tenor were rung by David Connearn.
The following also joined in ringing Rounds and Call Changes before and after the service: Beverley Sharp-Georgiev, Shana Vijayan, Temi Abidaye, Janet Caruso and MaryAnn Caruso.
A service touch of Plain Doubles was rung just before the service ending with diminishing rounds on the back six, with the tenor striking the final blows.
All The Meridian Ringers wish to be associated with today's ringing.

An Eighth Peal rung for the 60th Wedding Anniversary of Mr William Anthony Robinson and Miss Jennifer Wendy Cook, married at this church on 27th February 1965. Apparently, it snowed on that day and the bride was the only one who was warm wearing thermals under her wedding dress! They met at the Challengers Church Youth Group and after group meetings used to go for drinks at The George Pub near to St Mary's.
Jane, ringer of the second bell, is their daughter and Jane's cousin, Howard, was today's conductor. Sadly the bridegroom is deceased but the bride, Jennifer, came along with some friends to listen to the ringing.
After the ringing Graham Long played Wagner's Bridal March and Mendelssohn's Wedding March on the church organ.
Lunch followed at The George Pub afterwards.
