A belated commemorative peal to mark the 75th anniversary of the last peal on the bells at the old Little Chart church (22nd February 1936), which was destroyed by enemy action on 16th August 1944. The present church was consecrated on 29th September 1956 and the new ring of six bells (cast from the metal of the old bells by John Taylor & Co of Loughborough) was dedicated by Archbishop Geoffrey Fisher.

To mark the 250th anniversary, today, of the extent of Plain Bob Major by the Leeds Youths in this tower, and on these bells (excepting the 5th and 7th of this ring of 8 which have since been recast).
The performance commenced on 7th April 1761 and came into rounds on 8th April 1761 having taken 27 hours by relays.

Bell number three is inscribed "Canada" and was given by subscription as a Canadian War memorial. Many Canadian soldiers trained in the area including the grandfather of the ringer of bell number three.
