Belated 30th anniversary to the rehanging of the bells at Quedgeley in September 1993 by John Taylor & Co Bellfounders of Loughborough and service of Thanksgiving took place on 21 November 1993.
John Taylor & Co Bellfounders of Loughborough also augmented the bells at Quedgeley from 6 to 8 in September 1891 and rehung the bells on roller bearings and replaced the lower frame in September to October 1957.
The 7th bell was recast by Whitechapel Bell Foundry of London in 1977 and dedicated by the Bishop of Tewkesbury on 9th October 1977.
The 1993 work by John Taylor & Co Bellfounders involved replacing the old wooden headstocks with new cast iron ones on all bells except the 7th which had been replaced by a cast iron one at the time of the 1977 recasting of the bell also replacing the upper frame with a new cast iron one and retuning all the bells.
The dedication of the augmented bells took place on 22nd of September 1891 and the dedication of the 1957 rehang took place on 26th October 1957.
The bells at Quedgeley originally started out as a ring of 6 bells cast by Abraham Rudhall 2nd of Gloucester in 1732.
