Belated second century compliment to the bells at Hardwicke being augmented from 4 to 6 in November 1819 by John Rudhall of Gloucester at which only the treble bell remains from the augmentation and the only Rudhall bell remaining in the tower the second bell was recast at the same foundry in 1841 only by the Mears family John Rudhall having retired and left the foundry in 1835 the Mears family co owned the Gloucester Bell Foundry with London Whitechaple Bell Foundry and finished out the last ten years of the Gloucester Bell Foundry before permanently shutting the Gloucester Bell Foundry in 1845 and only running London Whitechaple Bell Foundry from then on.
Also a belated century compliment to the erection of the World War 1 memorial lychgate at Hardwicke church in October 1921.
Due to the bells becoming unringable shortly after the last quarter in May 2019 due to faulty gudgeons and bearings the bells could'nt be rung for both occasions so this quarter was rung as a belated compliment to both of those occasions.
Also a belated birthday compliment to the tenor ringer for last month.
First quarter on the bells since being refitted and rehung with new gudgeons and bearings last autumn.
