Rung to celebrate the life and works of David (Dave)Hipwell whose funeral took place today. Dave died at the age of 87 having been unwell for some time. He had been a ringer at the tower for in excess of 20 years before he was incapacitated by ill health. When ringing Grandsire he was limited to ringing the 3 in the half-hunt. As a tribute to Dave the 3 remained in the half-hunt throughout the quarter.
