Specially arranged and rung before evensong in anticipation - at Christ Church and York Minster, respectively, the following day - of the funeral, requiem mass and burial of Revd Carol Stone, Vicar of St Philip, Upper Stratton and Priest-in-Charge of St Peter, Penhill, Swindon, and of the consecration as Bishop of Stockport of Rt Revd Libby Lane. In poignant thanksgiving for the sadly premature completion of one woman’s ministry and joyful affirmation of another’s new one.

At the conclusion of the service, attended by over 400 people, 60 whole-pulls were rung on the tenor as the coffin processed to the burial ground through a guard of honour of bishops, clergy and lay ministers from across the Swindon Deanery and Diocese of Bristol.

Rung to commemorate the death of Private Duncan Ridler-Dutton of 2nd Battalion Border Regiment. Killed in action 13 March 1915 at Neuve Chappelle. Duncan lived with his family at Bratton's Farm Bisley and the Ridler-Dutton family continue to be active members of the Bisley community to this day.
Rung also in thanks for the life of Christopher Barron who tragically died at the age of 53 as the result of a riding accident earlier this week. Christopher was a lifelong member of the Bisley community having grown up and then managed the family Riding Stables at the nearby hamlet of Camp.
