A. at The Castle Temperance Hotel, Thornbury on 19 Feb 1910. The first peal to be rung (one of two rung on 25 Nov 1911) in the newly formed Branch was 5024 Plain Bob Major by F. Dench at Thornbury, conducted by Fred May. Recent examination of the handwritten composition found in Fred's notes reveal it to be false. A minor correction in the first course of each of the two parts makes it true. The revised composition was used for the above peal. The original composition, if ever officially published, has not been found - with thanks to Derek Carr, Paul Flavell and Richard Allton for their efforts.
