We rang 2 courses of Plain Bob Doubles at the beginning of our practice on Friday evening 19/1/24. The first ringing on practice night, on the back 6, was dedicated to the memory of Richard Hunt, ringer at Ryde on the Isle of Wight who died suddenly on Wednesday 17/1/24 following a short illness.

In memory of the parents of the ringer of the 3rd - John R Smith (1924-1997) and Elizabeth Smith (nee Faulknall) (1927-2015). They made a significant contribution to the development of ringing at Leicester Cathedral, both ringing in the first peal of Bristol Surprise Maximus, on 22nd May 1950. It is 80 years since John rang his first peal of Stedman Cinques (at the Cathedral on 1st April 1944). He rang 60 peals at the Cathedral in total. Stephen T Smith, Sarah's brother, wishes to be associated with this performance.
