Rung during practice night to mark the centenary of the death of Macclesfield Christ Church ringer Private Jack Start, on 6/10/1918 aged 20. He served initially in the Cheshire Regiment, then the Royal Welsh Fusiliers 14th Bn. He is commemorated at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gouy, France, Grave VA 17.

All are octogenarians who ring regularly at practice in this tower. Average of band 84years and 8months!
