A 40th birthday compliment (3rd October) to Dee Hodge, son of Liz and Mike Hodge.

Specially organised and rung in memory of Private Henry Dowse, Grandfather of William H Dowse (ringer of 4th) who was killed in action at Ypres on 7th October, 1917. He was born and bred in Hyde, Cheshire and served with the Manchester Regiment where he is commemorated at the Tyne Cot Cemetery in Belgium.

Rung half muffled on Remembrance Day in memory of Lance Corporal Ralph Williams, 9th Battalion King’s Royal Rifle Corps. He was ringer from this tower who lost his life serving King & country on 18th October 1917 aged 24. Now at peace in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery.

Also remembering Joseph Fuber Beecroft from the King’s Liverpool Regiment who died on 29/09/16 aged 19, buried Yuads Cemetery, Lesboefs.

Also, John Edmond Hayes from the Irish Guards, died in France on 17/09/16. No known grave but is remembered at the Thiepval Memorial.
