This peal was rung half-muffled as a tribute to the memory of the Rev. A H Waller, Vicar of the adjoining Parish of Alsager, who passed away suddenly on the Wednesday previous while on holiday in Scotland, and was interred on this date. The band wish to thank the incumbent and officials of Lawton for granting the use of the bells at short notice, and to Messrs. Rigby and Longman for their attention to the ‘go’ and muffling of the bells
