Mr. W.E Blackwell witnessed the true calling of the peal, marking off each bob lead as it came up.

J. Dillon hails from Bromborough, and this is his first 720 in the method.

This is the first 5040 on the bells, and first in four methods by all the band, also the first in four methods by the Guild. These are the first 720's of Canterbury by James Dillon. All the above are members of the Chester Guild, with the exception of J. R. Pritchard. Messrs. Strong and Rogers hail from Wallasey; Dillon from Bromborough; Pritchard from Liscard; the others belong to Bidston.

Gratrix hails from Swinton, near Manchester.

First peal: 3, 5, 7 & 8 who belong to Prestbury, the rest belong to Macclesfield. This is Matthews' first attempt at conducting triples. The peal was brought round at 11:20pm.
