The ancient ceremony of Ascension day with Common lands Trust Charity awards celebrated at The Arts Centre Sudbury Suffolk with bells at commencement.

Rung on Ascension Day, and specially arranged to mark 50 years since the collapse of this tower, ironically on Ascension Day, May 8th, 1975. Also to celebrate its subsequent restoration and the return of the bells in 1997. Work was taking place on the tower at the time of the incident, but the workmen had just started their lunch break so narrowly escaped injury.

This peal is associated with Neville Whittell, who has done much to help the local band

Rung immediately after the funeral Of Gillian Gurdon, who was active in this church over many years, including membership of the PCC, serving as Churchwarden. Gillian learned to ring as part of local band, recruited by her late husband Adam for the Millennium project and taught by Stephen Pettman and David Stanford.She was a great friend to ringers and will be greatly missed.

Rung to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ranald Warren Monteith Clouston MBE, born on 6th July 1925 in Lavenham, Suffolk.

A leading belfry archaeologist and writer, he generously served as Diocesan Bells Advisor from 1954 to 2001, Honorary Technical Advisor to the Suffolk Guild from 1957 to 1981 and advisor to the Council for the Care of Churches.

He retired to Pippin Cottage in Hartest and is laid to rest here.

The peal was rung in the presence of Ranald's children, Marion & Kath.

On the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day. Remembering Robert Sidney Stannard, 5825152. Sidney was reported as a POW in Malaya 15th February 1942. He worked on the Burma Railway.

Sidney was liberated 80 years ago today. Sidney chose to repatriate to New Zealand where he then served in the NZ army.
