Muriel rang a peal in 2004 for the 50th anniversary and a quarter in 2009 for the 55th anniversary both in this tower on this day. All were of Cambridge Surprise Major.

Rung in fond memory of Adrian (Arnie) Knights by a band of friends, all of whom rang over 100 peals with him. He used this composition for the first peal of Bristol he conducted in 1977.

Adrian learned to ring in this tower, being the last person taught by Ernest (Sid) Bailey, one of the renowned Bailey Brothers of Leiston.

Diana Pipe, James Smith, Mike Whitby, Stephen Bedford and Owen Claxton, all fellow 100+ pealers, wish to be associated with this tribute.

The band are also all members of the Society of Royal Cumberland Youths, of which Adrian was proud to have been a member.

Ringers of 5, 6, and 8 spent many hours working on installing these bells during the very hot weeks in July 2023.
