From Bell News:
The Peal at St Neots -These bells were cast at the Priory at St. Neots. by Robert
Taylor, great grandfather of Mr. J. W. Taylor,
of Loughborough, about the year 1753, and is the only peal in Hunts, cast by him. It is also the first peal rung on tower bells in St. Neots for 153 years. A company of change ringers existed at St. Neots about 1753, and it is believed several 5000s were rung on St. Neots bells, although records of all performances
were lost in the restoration of the church. It is hoped a stir will now be
made to get the fine ring of eight at St. Neots rehung. The band wish to thank the Rector (Revd T. Hodgson), and churchwardens for the use of the bells. It was also rang in honour of the King’s birthday.
