Rung on Mary Dawson Dinner day, first quarter in the variation for all. Mary Dawson treated the first Rothbury ringers to a meal in the Queens Head Hotel, Rothbury following the dedication of the bells in 1893. Miss Dawson also paid for several other bellringers' meals at the Queens Head Hotel which continues to be an important venue today for quenching the thirst after a hard Friday night practice and for our Christmas and Easter dinners.
