Remembering James Richardson aged 32 who lost his life on active service 8th July 1944 during this campaign. A bellringer at this Church joining the Lancashire Association of Change Ringers in 1933, ringing three peals here all local Middleton Ringers. He joined the Army into the Lancashire Fusiliers 2/5th Battalion. Remembered with Honour and laid to rest at Cambes-En-Plaine War Cemetery, near Caen, Northern France. His name amongst other local casualties of WW II in this Church in the Lady Chapel and with many other Fallen Ringers in the CCCBR Rolls of Honour Memorial Books in the care of St Paul’s Cathedral, London.
