90 changes of Grandsire Doubles for the 90th birthday of Ian W Taylor, bellringer for over 70 years and having more than 50 years service at this church as ringer and Tower Captain. Ian chimed the tenor behind to this touch whilst Margaret was able to join us in the ringing room to ring the treble. This is a substantial achievement for both Ian and Margaret who have not been able to ring much in recent years and are finally able to ring together again. The ringing was preceded by refreshments shared with ringers and friends from all across the Furness branch, followed by a round up of all Ian’s ringing achievements (there’s a lot of them!).
Happy 90th Birthday, Ian!

We'd liked to have rung more bells, but several ringers were involved in setting up for the Service or away, and we have a large pool of learners who are not up to ringing unassisted yet-but they will be soon! Very much onwards and upwards.

The last ringing practice of the year by an entire Mytton band, with local full circle ringing beginning again in late March 2023 after having no local band since the 1960's. Sadly, a couple of our band members could not be with us.
Grateful thanks to those who have supported us or continue to support us. We may be a new band, but we are lucky and have healthy continued shoots of growth and have more people waiting to learn next year.
