Rung to celebrate the Spirit of the People of Manchester, in the wake of the recent atrocity at the Manchester Arena.

The Cathedral is the nearest tower to the Arena, some 200 metres away. Due to the Cathedral being within a police security cordon, today is the first chance we have had to ring the bells since last Monday's events. All the ringers had to pass through a security and bag check before ringing.

This was the last ringing on these bells for a year or so - the ropes were removed after the bells were lowered.
