Rung in memory of L/Cpl. John Walmsley, a bellringer at Sacred Heart, Blackpool, who was killed in action whilst serving his Country on 26 April 1915, aged 21.

Rung on the front six in memory of Gunner Harold Gaskell, aged 20, killed 100 years ago today in Le Transloy, France. Harold was a member of the Lancashire Association of Change Ringers and a member of the band at Holy Trinity Church in Blackburn. The bells from Holy Trinity Church were moved to Saint Silas' in 1983.

As part of a re-creation of the original celebrations from 1816, the short boat Kennet passed through Burnley, en route from Leeds to Liverpool, whilst the peal was in progress.

The band would like to dedicate this quarter peal to Alan Dyson, a long time ringer at Tarleton, whose funeral was earlier this week.

With grateful thanks and celebration of the fourteen years of ministry by Revd Constance Whalley, at St Helen's and St Michael's parishes.

Rung by a Fylde band, including 3 local ringers (3, 4 & 6), to commemorate the 170 year life of these bells in the community of Kirkham and also (1) the opening of the Church memorial house on October 19th 1919 in memory of the 41 men of this parish who made the supreme sacrifice, (2) the unveiling of the memorial tablet on 21st October 1920 to those who had fallen during WW1. This tablet is ever a reminder to us of the great part that many of our men played in the never to be forgotten Great War, and (3) the placing of the colours of the 7th Battalion of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in the Church on November 14th 1920 into the care of the Vicar and PCC.

Maryl Chambers, née Crossthwaite, wishes to be associated with the peal; her son-in-law rang the 7th as representative for the three Crossthwaite family members in the original band.
