With the best wishes of the band and the ringers at St Mary's to Fr Benjamin Rabjohns on his Licensing this evening as Priest in Charge of the Parish of Penrhiwceiber, Matthewstown and Ynysboeth. Fr Ben was the instigator of a new band of ringers at St Mary's of which both he and his wife Rebecca were loyal and committed members. They will be sorely missed at Aberavon but we hope that they will continue to ring whenever they have the opportunity.

“DEATH OF RUMNEY RINGER
News has been received in Rumney, near Cardiff, that one of the local band, Pte Dan L Morgan, of the South Wales Borderers, has died of wounds sustained in the fighting near Salonica on the 23rd Oct. Pte Morgan joined the Rumney band when the bells were rehung seven years ago. He had been a faithful ringer, and was held in the highest esteem by his fellow ringers. He joined the colours at the outbreak of the war, and had seen fighting in France before being transferred to the Salonica front.”
