This quarter peal was composed in the trenches during the First World War by a ringer from Burton upon Trent, Sergeant Albert P Wakley. Although badly wounded in the Battle of Loos in 1915, Albert survived to the end of the war before dying three months later in the appalling influenza pandemic that followed.
