Gwen has been a faithful member of this church for many years and also very active in the local friends of Tenovus group.
Therefore tonights quarter peal was a repeat performance of a quarter rung prior to the Tenovus lovelight carol service last year with the ringers of 2-6 ringing the same bells.

Rung to celebrate the 21st birthday yesterday of Alice Mundy, youngest daughter of Jane and Brent Mundy (regular church goers at Magor). The quarter peal was 'won' by Jane at the silent auction held recently in aid of Magor Church Hall. Alice was presented with a commemorative card.
Coincidentally and fittingly, the day was Easter Day, and the quarter peal was rung directly after the morning service, and it was particularly well struck.

Arranged for and rung on the 90th anniversary of the award of the Bardic Chair at the National Eisteddfod of Wales to Private Elis Evans whose Bardic name was "Hedd Wyn." Unfortunately he had been killed on the battlefield at Paschendale on 31st July that year. The Chair was draped in a black pall and became known as "Yr Gadair Du" meaning "The Black Chair."
Also remembering Rhys Jones whose funeral was held today in Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. Another life cut tragically short by gunfire.
