Rung to celebrate the "Casnewydd a'r Cylch" (Newport and District) National Eisteddfod 2004 at nearby Tredegaer Park, on the afternoon of the "Gymanfa Ganu" (festival of hymn singing).
This was to have been a peal attempt but unfortunately a number of the band were held up in football traffic and thus there was insufficient time to complete the peal before a baptism in the church.
