50th peal together: 2, 5. Rung as a compliment to the Rev Canon David Phillips, MA, RD, who has completed 30 years as Vicar of this parish.

First peal of Kent Major: 2. First peal of Kent Major on the bells.

First peal of Major: 1. First peal of Major as conductor. The tenor ringer’s 50th peal. Rung with the bells half-muffled as a last tribute of respect to the memory of the Rev. Herbert Addams-Williams, M.A., for many years Rector of Llangibby, and Rural Dean of Usk, who died at Clifton on January 29th. Also to the memory of Mr. William Simmonds, for many years verger of this church, who prior to the restoration and augmentation of these bells was one of the old six-bell ringers. This peal was rung immediately following his funeral.

First peal on an 'inside’ bell: 2. First peal: 8. Rung half-muffled as a last tribute of respect to the memory of the Rev. Herbert Adams-Williams, M.A., who was buried on this day in Llangibby Churchyard.

He was for 33 years Rector of the parish, and it was through his efforts the bells were restored and augmented from six to eight

First peal of Caters as conductor. Ringers of 1, 6 and 7 hail from Aberavon, 2 from All Saints’, Newport, 3, 4 and 5 from Usk, 8 from Bedwellty, 9 from Abergavenny, and tenor from Cardiff. The band take this opportunity of thanking Mr. Fred Atwell for obtaining permission and making all arrangements for the peal, and to Mr. C. Greedy for meeting the band both before and after the peal.

First peal in the method: 4. Seventieth peal for Harry Page. Also a compliment to T. J. Hamlin on his 69th birthday. This peal was arranged for the ringers of 2nd, 3rd and 4th, who belong to Aberavon, Bedwellty, and Cardiff respectively.

The peal was arranged to give Mr. Ernest Stitch the opportunity of conducting, for the first time, Holt's Original on these bells. Unfortunately, illness prevented him from taking part. Mr. Clift filled the breach as conductor, and Mr. Fred Chamberlain was good enough to take the spare rope.

First peal of Major: 1. First peal of Major on the bells. Rung on the 40th anniversary of J W Jones' wedding day.

First peal - 6. First peal ever rung on the bells (which were put in the tower in 1893) by all Sunday Service ringers at the above church. The ringer of the 2nd took part in the first peal on the bells in 1904.

First peal of Triples as conductor and first attempt. Rung with the bells half-muffled as a token of respect to the late Mrs. J. W. Jones, wife of Mr. J. W. Jones, the highly esteemed hon. secretary of the above association, with whom much sympathy is felt in his bereavement.

First peal of Stedman. First peal in the method on the bells.

Thanks are due to Messrs. E. W. Luff and E. H. Stradling, who stood out to allow the visitors to attempt Stedman. D. G. Clift has now rung each bell in this tower to a peal.

This peal was rung in honour of the Rev Timothy Rees, of the college of the new Resurrection, Mirfield, who was on this day consecrated as the new Bishop of Llandaff, the consecration taking place at St Asaph's Cathedral.

First peal - 1, 3. First peal of Grandsire Triples - 2. Rung after meeting short for Erin Triples owing to one of the band being ill. Mr. W. J. Nurton kindly took the spare rope at the last minute. Ringers of 1, 2, 3, 5 and tenor are from Pentre, the rest local.

First peal of Caters: 5. Rung on the 14th anniversary of the ringer of the 5th's wedding day, also the 18th anniversary of the ringer of the 7th.

50th peal together: 1, 10. Rung on the 21st birthday of W C Perry, son of the ringer of the 3rd.

A birthday compliment to George Went, one of the local ringers.

First peal of Kent Major. Rung on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Jones, of Caradoc Street, Cwmcarn, Monmouthshire, Mrs. Jones being a native of Pentre.

First peal: 1.

First peal of Stedman Caters: 3. Rung on the eve of the harvest festival as a farewell to the Rev. M. Jones-Powell, D.D., who has left Cardiff for the parish of Peterston-super-Ely, Glamorganshire.

First peal of Stedman Triples as conductor and first attempt. Rung on the eve of the harvest festival. The ringer of the 2nd has now completed the circle in this tower, and the ringer of the treble has now done it for the second time.

First peal of Doubles - 2. First peal - 3. Arranged for Mr H Page of Pentre Rhondda, to enable him to ring a peal of Doubles.

First peal of Major: 1, 2, 3. First peal on eight bells: 2. First peal of Cambridge by all the band and first on the bells. First peal of Cambridge for the association by an entirely local band.

Rung half-muffled for the 13th anniversary of the Armistice.

First peal of Stedman Caters: 1. Rung as a welcome to the Rev James Abraham Lewis BA, who was inducted as Vicar on November 14th, and also as a birthday compliment to Mr James George, of Birmingham, to whom the above band offer their sincere congratulations on his recovery. Great credit is due to the treble ringer for the way he handled and struck his bell throughout the peal, having only one arm, the result of a railway accident some years ago.

First peal of Stedman Caters: 1. Rung to commemorate the Tercentenary of Fabian Stedman, also as a birthday peal to Mr John W Jones, hon. secretary of the Llandaff and Monmouth Association.
