Also to the memory of Mr. William Simmonds, for many years verger of this church, who prior to the restoration and augmentation of these bells was one of the old six-bell ringers. Great credit is due to the treble ringer for the way he handled and struck his bell throughout the peal, having only one arm, the result of a railway accident some years ago.
