First peal: 1, 2, 8. John W. Jones hails from Newport. The above muffled peal was rung in memory of Mr. R. K. Pritchard, of Bryntirion, who was buried on that date at Baglan, Glamorganshire. He was a most generous benefactor of St. Illtyd’s Church, having in 1904 defrayed the cost of re-casting six bells and adding two new ones for the tower. He also took a very great interest in bell ringing, and will be much missed in the parish. R.I.P.
