Australian & New Zealand Association — Suffrage 125

Wednesday, 28th November 2018

On 28th November 1883, the Women of New Zealand voted for the first time.

New Zealand became the first self-governing country in the world to grant all women, over the age of 21, the right to vote in parliamentary elections. This law was passed on the 19th September 1893, after an enormous struggle by suffragists in New Zealand, led by Kate Sheppard.

Your event has been typeset for The Ringing World.
